Abstract

In this study, Aluminum A713 based composites have been developed by choosing TiB2 and Graphene as reinforcements. The composites are fabricated by using the stir casting technique. The prepared composites were characterized using Optical Microscopy (OM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS). Tensile strength and microhardness of composites were tested using ASTM standards. The results showed that incorporating TiB2 and Graphene reinforcements into A713 alloy increased its hardness and tensile strength. SEM analysis was employed to evaluate the fracture surfaces and also to identify the impact of TiB2 and Graphene particles.
