Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the long-term fracture resistance of simulated immature teeth filled with Bioglass, Biodentine, Geristore and Easy Seal root filling material. Materials and methods 75 mandibular premolar with single root were separated into five gatherings of 15 teeth each. Control group without treatment. The left over specimens were prepared size 4 Peeso passed 1 mm past the apex. After irrigation canals were filled Bioglass, Biodentine, Geristore and Easy Seal as filling material. 4 mm thickness of the apical plug was maintained and backfilled with thermoplasticized gutta-percha. Canals were left unfilled in Control group. Restoration of access cavities were done with composite resin. Postobturation radiographs were taken. The filled roots kept in an incubator for 7days at 37°C and 100% relative humidity.Every test specimen was then exposed to fracture testing utilizing testing machine. Results Group IV (Geristore) showed better mean fracture resistance. Control group had showed second better mean fracture resistance Group II, III and V, whereas Group V showed significantly least mean fracture resistance. Conclusions Geristore, Biodentine and bioglass can be utilized as ideal retrograde materials. These retrograde materials these can enhance longevity of immature teeth in the mouth.
