Abstract

Alternative Dispute Resolution is deeply rooted in Cambodia’s legal system, yet the research on Cambodia’s Alternative Dispute Resolution is still very limited. This paper looks into the traditional methods of Cambodia’s Alternative Dispute Resolution by zooming into the culture and the development of Cambodia’s legal system as well as the influence of tradition, and religion on its contemporary Alternative Dispute Resolution. Furthermore, the paper explores the evolution and the integration of Alternative Dispute Resolution into the common legal system of Cambodia while at the same time, draws a short comparison between labour and commercial dispute resolution of China and Cambodia.
