Abstract

A comparative analysis of the physical foundations of tomography based on transmitted and scattered X-rays is presented. Comparative estimates of the effects of the object’s features, radiation parameters, and measurement schemes on the main characteristics of reconstruction and measurement results are presented. These estimates reveal the common and directly opposite effects in the tomography techniques based on transmitted and scattered X-rays.
