Abstract

We have measured the reversible magnetization of Bi 1.84Pb 0.34Sr 1.91Ca 2.03Cu 3.06O 10+δ (Bi-2223) and HgBa 2Ca 2Cu 3O 8+δ (Hg-1223), having three CuO 2 planes as a function of the temperature and magnetic field. By employing the Hao–Clem model, superconducting parameters, such as the penetration depth and the coherence length, are obtained. From the results, we confirmed that the effective carrier mass for Hg-1223 is about three-times larger than that for Bi-2223 due to the higher carrier density in Hg-1223.
