Abstract
The study proposes a reassessment of the final classification methodology for Officer Cadets in the Military Police of Bahia (PMBA) through the application of different measures of central tendency. The research, conducted through bibliographic review, documentary analysis, and comparative study, encompasses four courses (one CFOPM, one CFOAPM, and one CFTAPM), with CFOPM still in progress. The choice was limited to Arithmetic and Harmonic means, revealing a strong correlation between the two. Remarkably, there was a change in the rankings of 318 out of 393 evaluated students, representing a variation of 80.9%. When comparing classifications based on legislation (Article 124 of RAPM), 41 Officer Cadets would have been classified differently, including the introduction of the "Regular" (R) concept. It is concluded that the application of the Harmonic mean is the closest to representing the desired professional profile by APMBA.
