Abstract

Low power consumption is very important for Internet of Things (IoT) for achieving long lifetime. On the other hand, non-volatile memory such as Flash memory or Ferroelectronic Random Access Memory (FRAM) has been commercially produced for power reduction in micro control unit (MCU). In this paper, the MCU based on the Flash and FRAM are compared and analyzed in terms of power through IoT implementation. For practical analysis, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) is implemented and measured based on MCU. From measurement results, the time and power consumption of shutdown and wakeup are important as that of the active and standby.
