Abstract

In this paper, the performance of three well known control techniques for boost converter is compared to help the user for selecting a suitable control approach. The control methods considered for comparison are linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC), double loop PI control, and sliding mode control(SMC) techniques reported in the literature. Closed-loop responses of the above-said methods are analyzed under different scenarios and various performance measures such as rise time, settling time, peak overshoot, and integral absolute error are calculated and compared. Also, the robustness of these control techniques towards sudden change in the load and as well as change in the input voltage is analyzed. It has been observed that double-loop PI control results in overall improved performance as compared to LADRC and SMC approaches.
