Abstract
Extraction of electrical power from the renewable energy is a paradigm shift towards the sustainable development. As the fossil fuels will be depleting at a faster rate, so shifting towards the electrical power generation through wind energy is the best alternative as it is ecofriendly and available in abundance without any cost. Wind energy conversion system utilize the wind energy which is converted into the electrical energy with the help of generators. Various configuration of the generator is available which can be used in the wind turbine system such as SCIG (squirrel cage induction generator), DFIG (doubly fed induction generator) PMSG (permanent magnet synchronous generator) SRG (switched reluctance generator). This paper presents the comparative analysis of numerous configurations of induction and synchronous generators that can be used for the extraction of wind power in wind energy conversion system
