Abstract
Data on the nutrition of Acipenser ruthenus Linnaeus, Abramis brama (Linnaeus), and Blicca bjoerkna (Linnaeus) in the Volga reservoirs in 2001 and 2005 are given in the paper. The diet of A. ruthenus consisted mainly of Trichoptera and Mollusca, whereas that of B. bjoerkna included mainly Mollusca. In various reservoirs, the structure of A. brama food bolus significantly differed. In the Rybinsk Reservoir, A. brama food bolus included mainly Chironomidae, in the Gorky Reservoir - Polychaeta and Chironomidae, in the Kuybyshev Reservoir - Polychaeta and Crustacea, whereas in the Saratov and Volgograd reservoirs - Mollusca and Crustacea.
