Abstract
This work presents a comparative analysis among different types of oils used as cutting fluids in the machining industry. The research aimed to address the comparison of mineral, synthetic, and vegetable oils, considering their physicochemical properties, machining performance, and environmental impacts of these fluids. The proper choice of cutting fluid is essential to optimize the cutting process of metallic materials, directly influencing the operation efficiency, the quality of machined parts, and production costs. The results indicate that each type of oil has distinct characteristics that should be considered in selecting the most suitable cutting fluid for each application. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of choosing the correct oil as a cutting fluid and provides valuable information for professionals and researchers in the machining field.
