Abstract
Abstract Folk textile is important part of tangible heritage in Lithuania and Western Ukraine. Comparable analysis of folk bedspreads is relevant for visual representation of the national identity of both countries. The aim of the paper is to analyse and compare structural parameters and colour combinations of folk bedspreads from Western Ukraine and Lithuania, seeking to find and highlight their universal and unique parameters. The materials, techniques, patterns and colouring of Western Ukrainian and Lithuanian bedspreads were compared. In some cases, very similar principles of decoration were discovered, but some Lithuanian and Ukrainian bedspreads were completely different.
