Abstract

A compact wideband microstrip bandpass filter is presented in the paper. A Tri-mode resonator is used to realize the compact single band filter, while input/output defected ground structure (DGS) Coupling structure is utilized to form a wideband filter. A prototype microstrip filter centered at 3.6 GHz with 45% fractional bandwidth is designed, fabricated and measured. Good agreement is found between simulated and measured results.
