Abstract

A compact UWB MIMO antenna using quasi-self-complementary half-slot structure is proposed in this paper. The quasi-self-complementary half-slot structure consists of a semiellipse radiator and a quasi-ellipse shaped protuberant ground plane, which is the basic element to design the proposed antenna. The application of the quasi-self-complementary half-slot structure provides miniaturization, ultrawideband phenomena and good isolation. The proposed UWB MIMO antenna has compact size of 22.8 × 18 mm, operates from 2.88 to 11.87 GHz, and obtains inherently a good isolation greater than 15 dB.
