Abstract

In this paper, a compact 60GHz on-chip bandpass (BPF) filter is presented for SIP (System In a Package) application using integrated passive devices (IPD) technology on GaAs substrate. The IPD technology is adopted to realize high performance, low cost and high integration. In order to improve frequency selectivity, one transmission zero is obtained near the upper side of the passband by introducing cross-coupling between the first and third resonators. The proposed filter shows good performance when comparing with other works. The main size of the filter is only 0.62*0.33mm2. The filter has an extremely low insertion loss of 1.2 dB with a ripple of less than 0.1 dB from 55.4GHz to 62GHz. Good agreement is achieved between the measurement results and the simulated ones.
