Abstract

This paper presents a compact lowpass filter (LPF) with wide stop-band. The LPF is realized by a compact microstrip resonant cell (CMRC) and shunt folded open stubs. Wide stopband characteristics can be achieved by introducing transmission zeros into the stopband. Measured results of the fabricated prototype show that the insertion loss is less than 1.5 dB (DC-10GHz) and stopband bandwidth better than −20dB is obtained from 15 to 40 GHz. The circuit only occupies 1.95mm×1.46mm (0.16λg×0.13λg).
