Abstract

The compact high gain planar antenna excited by the ultra low profile inverted L antenna is analyzed numerically. The unbalanced fed inverted L antenna is mounted on the rectangular conducting plane. Two parasitic conducting planes are located above the inverted L antenna. When the antenna size is 61 mm by 63 mm by 12 mm, S 11 less than −10dB is satisfied at the frequencies from 2.20 GHz to 2.55 GHz. The directivity becomes 8.11 dBi to 9.01 dBi at this frequency band. In the numerical analysis, the electromagnetic simulator “WIPL-D” based on the Method of Moments is used.
