Abstract
We propose that the compact gap solitons and compact edge states can be excited in a flatband of the incoherently-pumped exciton–polariton condensate under a one-dimensional periodic potential lattice. The combined effects of spin–orbit coupling and periodic potential depth on the flatband structures are investigated. Then how the compact gap solitons and edge states are localized and extended inside only a fraction of a single lattice site will be studied with varying pump strengths, pump spot-sizes as well as energy detuning.
