Abstract

A compact microstrip-fed dual-band printed antenna for wireless local area network (WLAN) applications is proposed in the current letter. The antenna is composed of a C-shaped radiation patch and a modified rectangular ground lane. Through proper adjustment of angle of two arms of C-shaped radiation patch, dual desired resonance frequencies are generated. The presented antenna exhibits a great independence while being tuned separately. The measured 10 dB bandwidth for return loss is from 2.3 to 2.7 GHz and 4.8 to 9 GHz, which covers all the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands. Good radiation performances and antenna gains are obtained. Details of designing procedure and measured results are illustrated as follows.
