Abstract

This paper proposes a compact and wideband dual-port dual-frequency UAV antenna composed of an antenna array and a wideband planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA). The antenna can realize simultaneous wireless power transmission and communication transmission. The antenna is composed of a 2 × 2 patch antenna array and a PIFA, and its resonance center frequencies are 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, respectively. To suppress surface waves and improve port isolation, a shorted square ring patch is introduced. PIFA achieves wideband characteristics by etching a slot. The simulated gains of the antenna at 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz are 11.28 dBi and 6.17 dBi respectively. The isolation between the two ports is larger than 25 dB. The VSWR is less than 2 dB in the designed low-frequency band and high-frequency band. At the same time, the antenna maintains a compact size of 0.982 λ 0 × 0.898 λ 0 × 0.019 λ 0 . This enables the proposed antenna to be easily mounted on the UAV.
