Comorbidity of alcohol use disorders and anxiety or mood disorders; which health care services are provided and how to organize prevention? The most prevalent psychiatric disorders in the Netherlands are anxiety, mood and substance use disorders. Co- morbidity of these disorders is also common. Because of the time lapse between the origin of both psychiatric disorders there are possibilities for prevention. The aim of our study was to investigate which treatments and preventive interventions are available and how health care in the Netherlands contributes to the prevention of an alcohol use disorder with a comorbid anxiety or mood disorder. A literature search and an online questionnaire in mental health and addiction services were used. The respons rate of the questionnaire was 39%.
