Abstract

Professional ethics consists of administering services for the promotion of a fundamental right of the people. Therefore, in addition to human qualities, the collective response from the different agents who assume this responsibility is expected. In the case of journalism, the media and professionals must be held accountable by values such as participation, pluralism, transparency, and independence of interests that may condition freedom of expression and the right to information. In this article we analyze the current debate in Spain about the different means of media accountability in the digital communication ecosystem.
