Abstract

In a world that strives for superdiversity, it is very important that inclusiveness is present at all levels of social stratification and in different social groups. This paper provides a unique review of literature dealing with social mobility, community sport and the effects of martial arts, especially taekwondo, on the lives of children and young people. Ultimately, the aim of this paper is to provide a view of the possibilities of taekwondo as a sport and leisure activity, which could be an instrument for the vertical social mobility of children and young people who practice this sport. Likewise, the aim of the paper is to present the perspective of future research, especially in the Republic of Croatia since such research is lacking, and it is precisely these that are a possible foundation for community development in the context of equal opportunities for all.
