Abstract

This article describes the author's social work internship with K'inal Antsetik, a women's weaving cooperative comprised of indigenous Mayan women throughout the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The author reflects on the significance of art in community empowerment based on her internship experiences with the women of Pueblo Nuevo Sitala and their community mural project.
