Abstract

Through semi-structured interviews with female social movement participants in a grassroots Argentine community group with Catholic origins, I asked, ‘How do women in a grassroots Argentine movement perceive the influence of theology on this movement's pedagogies?’ The following themes emerged: role of a mission statement, ‘Announcing the world’; incorporation of various spiritual traditions; storytelling as pedagogy; archetypes as pedagogical tool; transmission to home and community; and return to formal education. Theology was found to be a tool of action and reflection in the struggle for women's liberation and holistic, ecumenical community development.
