Abstract
The Mekong Delta has experienced significant challenges in the context of climate change, particularly concerning the emergence of extreme weather phenomena. Specifically, Bac Lieu, a region within the delta, has been particularly impacted by the adverse effects of climate change, such as rising sea levels. These effects have had profound negative implications for both socio-economic development and the well-being of residents. To comprehensively comprehend the current state of affairs and formulate an effective plan to tackle climate change, this research undertook an extensive survey and collected perspectives from relevant stakeholders. The consultations revealed a consensus that climate change has already had detrimental consequences on the lives of residents, thereby highlighting the urgent need for proactive measures to mitigate and adapt to these issues. Moreover, the study found that the management agencies responsible for preventing and addressing climate change in Bac Lieu have demonstrated a commendable level of concern, coordination, and implementation towards this issue.
