Abstract

This article presents a care study focusing on surgery in the home from yesteryear. The perspectives of three key informants are presented: the patient, the patient’s Scottish private-duty nurse, and the patient’s sister. Their shared stories allow us to reflect on care giving in the home, as shared from the past, and to compare this to the delivery of community-based nursing care of today.
