Abstract

Abstract : Latin America continues to be a target for communist subversion. Although the communist parties in Latin America are fragmented and are not as strong as in the past, their goal of securing power for worldwide communism has not changed. Subversion is one of the tools that they are using to obtain this goal. The governments of Latin America realize the threat and are taking active action to control subversive activities. This essay examines the status of communist subversive activities in Latin America, the decline of agarian guerrilla movements and how subversive activities can be controlled. The conclusion reached in the study is that communist subversion is not a serious threat to Latin America, because it can be controlled.
