Abstract
The communicative activity of a head of a choral collective is an indicator of successful professional development of choristers, a tool for improving their level. The category and concept of communication as a tool of interaction between the leader and members of a choral collective are very important aspects in choral practice. Emphasising the specifi cs of relationship between a choirmaster and choristers, the author builds a connection between personal characteristics of a choral collective head with his/her professional qualities and their communicative projection into the fi eld of communication with the choral collective. Of particular importance is consideration of national cultural traditions of students from China studying at Russian music universities.
