Abstract

Americans, as relative newcomers in the assumption of heavy international responsibilities, may have underestimated thus far some of the communication problems due to differences between the “subjective worlds” of the industrialized and the non-industrialized peoples. Yet the latter are a majority of the world's population and are audiences for a vast amount of international propaganda. This paper places the problem in perspective and suggests some lines of research. Bruce L.
