Abstract

These days it is unlikely to find some areas that are not covered by some WiFi, WiMAX, and/or Cellular devices. Wireless Technology has not only shown us the advancement of science, it also has made an enormous impact on our day-to-day life. In recent years, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have gained a lot of attention to the researchers due to its ability of rapid deployment, low cost and low maintenance, scalability, etc. Typically, in a WSN when the sensor nodes are deployed physical they form an unstructured network topology where efficient communication could be a challenging issue. Thus to facilitate time and energy efficient communication structured network is often considered. In this paper, we study communication protocols for a special structured wireless sensor network, namely dynamic cluster-based wireless sensor network (DCWSN) where a wireless sensor network is named as dynamic if it is supported by two network operations: Join and Leave. Secondly, we describe communication protocols on such structure where mainly we describe the protocols in an organized and well readable manner. Finally, we demonstrate some simulation results to compare the efficiency of these protocols.
