Abstract

This research attempts to introduce a new communication model from Sri Lanka. It is an oriental communication model with special reference to ‘Kalama Sutta’, herein named as the ‘Communication Model of Epistemology’. It attempts to provide an alternative oriental perspective in models of communication based on religious literature and pays much attention to the epistemology, which has not been discussed in an academic perspective in relation to communication. Hypothetically, there are some doubts about the birthplace of effective and real communication in Buddhist texts. Therefore, this model selected and used the Textual Analysis method only because it is entirely based on the selected special segment in the Thripitaka, especially the Kalama Sutta in Anguththara Nikaya.
