Abstract

The quick and non-destructive capacity and power characteristic measurement techniques for lithium/carbon fluorides (Li/CF x ) primary batteries are necessary to select the most equal batteries for the assembly process of a battery pack. Here, 117 new Li/CF x pouch cells are characterized to yield a broad set of data, focusing on analyzing and evaluating the correlation between power characteristic, electrochemical impedance, and resistance. The research results suggest the feasibility of implementing correlation-based capacity and power characteristic quick tests, which can be utilized in Li/CF x batteries with the same active CF x materials, chemistry, manufacturer, and size.
