Abstract

Treatment of the carbene CpFel(CO){ CHS(CH 2 ) 2 S} with LiBEt 3 H or photolysis of the alkyl CpFe{CHS(CH 2 ) 2 S}(CO) 2 results in a mixture of CpFe{η2-CHS(CH 2 ) 2 S}(CO), containing a labile Fe—S bond, and a dimeric species, the tricyclic diferradithiacyclohexane[CpFe{CHS(CH 2 ) 2 S}(CO)] 2 .
