Abstract
Ozet Amac. Bu calismada, cocuklarda common melanositik nevus sayisi ile atipik melanositik nevus arasindaki iliskisinin belirlenmesi amaclanmaktadir. Yontem. Cumhuriyet Universitesi Tip Fakultesi Dermatoloji klinigine ait nevus prevalans ve dermatoskopi kayitlari incelendi ve common ve atipik melanositik nevusu olan tum cocuklar calismaya dahil edildi. Hastalarin her biri icin common ve atipik melanositik melanositik nevus sayilari kaydedildi. Veriler common ve atipik melanositik nevus arasindaki iliskiyi belirlemek icin istatistiksel olarak analiz edildi. Bulgular. Common ve atipik melanositik nevus sayilari sirasiyla 1168 (74,8%) ve 56 (3,6%) idi. Common melanositik nevusu sayisi daha fazla olanlarda atipik melanositik nevus gorulme olasiliginin daha yuksek oldugu belirlendi (p = 0,0001). Sonuc. Melanoma gelisimi icin onemli bir risk faktoru olan atipik melanositik nevusun mevcudiyeti acisindan, cok sayida common melanositik nevusa sahip cocuklarin takibi onemlidir. In this study, it is aimed to determine the relationship between the number of common melanocytic nevus and the peresence of atypical melanocytic nevus among teenagers. Materials. Nevus prevalence and dermatoscopy records of our dermatology clinic were investigated and all teenager patients (N = 1562) who had common and atypical melanocytic nevus were included. The number of common melanocytic nevus and the presence of atypical melanocytic nevus for each one of all patients were recorded. Data were analysed statistically to determine the relationship between common and atypical melanocytic nevus. Results. The numbers of the patients with common melanocytic nevus and atypical melanocytic nevus were 1168 (74.8%), and 56 (3.6%) respectively. It was noted that the presenting rate of atypical melanocytic nevus increased in those whom had higher common melanocytic nevus numbers (p = 0.0001). Conclusion. In terms of the presence of an atypical melanocytic nevus which is an important risk factor fort the development of melanoma, to follow-up of the children having much more common melanocytic nevus is important.
