Abstract
This chapter presents an overview and historical evolution of some of the main commodities exchanges around the word, namely: CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in the USA; Euronext, London Metal Exchange (LME) and Moscow Exchange in Europe; Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), India Commodity Exchange, China Dalian Commodity Exchange, Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Bursa Malaysia in Asia; SAFEX-JSE and Ethiopia Commodity Exchange in Africa; Brasil Bolsa Balcão (B3) and MATba Argentina in Latin America; and Australia Securities Exchange (ASX) and New Zealand Exchange (NZX) in Oceania.
