Commitments of SAARC Summits – An Analysis

Abstract

The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established in 1985 with a view to strengthen cooperation among the nations. Long 25 years has gone but how much its objectives were achieved. South Asian leaders were meeting for 16 times and committed a lot but how many of the commitments were implemented? How much poverty alleviated? What is the present status of people’s movement among the SAARC countries? So many questions arises in my mind, and wanted to get a slice knowledge about the trade and development commitments of SAARC leaders and there implementation status.
