Abstract
Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) is often considered to be an old and expensive analysis technique, but its virtues still stand today: it is an effective, non-destructive, reliable, highly sensitive and multi-element technique. INAA is mainly used at universities or atomic energy research institutes which have a nuclear reactor at their diposal. Although DSM Research does not have a nuclear reactor, INAA has become one of its key analytical techniques because it was introduced via a commercial approach and because INAA is a highly suitable technique for the range of samples analysed at DSM Research.
