Abstract
This paper analyzes the effects of commercial policy in a dynamic three-factor, three-sector model that allows for endogenous capital accumulation, nontraded goods and both consumption and capital good imports. Simple, well-defined conditions are derived under which different trade strategies raise or lower the real wage and are effective in promoting capital accumulation.
