Abstract
Jim Cronin asked me and other colleagues to attend this Workshop to provide a critical point of view from non-expert scientists on the future developments needed to study Cosmic Rays at the highest energy. Being from outside this field, most of my comments will therefore be quite naive. I will take advantage of my involvement in the large Hadron Collider project to make comparisons and try to extract some general comments and guidelines.
