Abstract
This work presents an experimental study of the statistical distribution of the size and density of grains along minimum ionizing 71- tracks in nuclear emulsions. Distribution parameters are computed, and an explanation is given for the departure of the size distribution curve from a normal curve. A quantitative explanation of the magnitude of the experimentally observed minimum grain density is also suggested. The experimental observations agree with the theory.
