Comments on the Curry and Reeder Papers

Abstract

Mr. Curry's paper contains many interesting and provocative comments and it is both a privilege and a pleasure to discuss them. It should be emphasized, however, that I am speaking today as a college professor and not as a supervisory official. My tenure as Insurance Commissiorner has been very brief and most of the views I hold at the moment stem from my experience in the classroom and as a student of the insurance business, though a few of them have been sharpened by my recent experiences in the Michigan Insurance Department.
