Abstract
This workshop concerning the endoscopic classification of superficial neoplastic lesions in the esophagus, stomach, and colon took place in Paris on November 30th and December 1st, 2002. It is honorable that the achievements of this workshop have been compiled by Dr. Lambert, who dedicated himself to realize the workshop and prepare, with the help of Dr. Lightdale, its publication as a supplement to Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Profoundly respectful of the continuous, persistent effort of Dr. Lambert, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations on completion of this classification. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to those who presented the results of their many years of studies and participated in discussion in the workshop, as well as all those who were involved in this project in diverse ways.
