Comments on “Study of thermodynamic properties of binary mixtures of propionitrile with dimethylsulfoxide (or diethylsulfoxide) at temperatures from (298.15 to 323.15) K”

Abstract

The negative excess molar volumes reported by Ghazoyan and coworkers for binary propionitrile + dimethyl sulfoxide and propionitrile + diethyl sulfoxide are not thermodynamically consistent with the positive numerical values that the authors give for the partial molar excess volumes for the individual mixture components. Moreover, the authors' calculated partial molar volumes of the individual mixture components are not consistent with the molar volumes of the mixtures based on the experimental densities.
