• Eqs. ( 8 ) and ( 13 ) in Li (2010) are questionable. • We deduce a new capillary pressure model. • We explain why the Brooks–Corey capillary model fails for tight reservoirs. • This new model proves the observation of Lekia and Evans (1990) .
