Abstract
Based on study of foraminiferal and conodont fauna possible levels for Lower Carboniferous subdivision in Moravia are distinguished at the Kinderhookian-Osagean (Middle-Upper Tournaisian) boundary, at the base of the Scaliognathus anchoralis Zone and at the Tournaisian-Visean boundary. Discussion of the most suitable international level for Lower Carboniferous subdivision is presented.
