Abstract

The results of two previously published articles about the catalytic decomposition of hydrous hydrazine were analyzed. Experimentally it was shown that Ni0.5Cu0.5/CeO2 catalyst is more active than Ni/CeO2. However, the measured impact of external mass transport on the observed decomposition rate contradicts heterogeneous catalysis's fundamental chemical engineering principles. The observed deviation could be described only by the copper-induced homogeneous reaction.
