Abstract
To the Editor.— Drs. V. H. Carter and V. S. Constantine in their two articles in the June 1968 issue of the Archives 1,2 reported five new cases of Kyrle's disease and reviewed 45 cases from the literature, 12 of which they accepted as true examples of this disorder. We have recently observed a brother and a sister presenting with Kyrle's disease and, evaluating 73 cases from the world literature with strict criteria, we found 26 cases to be authentic. 3 A comparison of our findings with those of Carter and Constantine 1 prompts us to offer the following comments: In their paper1 Dr. Carter and Constantine state that . . . four of our patients and three from the literature had evaluation of glucose metabolism.
