Abstract
It is pointed out that an extra process must be taken into account for a correct interpretation of the experimental measurements reported by Paris et al (2005 J. Phys. D: Appl. Phys. 38 3894). The analysis presented here allows partial use of the results of the above-mentioned paper with some limitations.
