Abstract
As a philosophic essay Professor Groenewold’s contribution is an extensive reiteration of a fairly common version of a view called loosely the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics. On the detailed mathematical side, it contains a number of interesting refinements, especially in the sections entitled ‘Measurement and Motion’ and ‘Quantal and Classical Formalism’. Its core is the quantum theory of measurement.
